I have been serving clients in a variety of settings since 2008. I am a graduate of the Leading Edge leadership program, a proud member of Warriors’ Ascent (which focuses on providing trauma treatment to Veterans and First Responders), a former member of the advisory board of The Resilient Activist, a former teacher at Midwest Alliance for Mindfulness, and I am a Climate Aware Therapist and part of the Climate Psychology Alliance. I also have several years of hospice experience, and am trained in Complex Trauma.
In my practice, I focus largely on building resilience in order to set and achieve goals, and I like to work with my clients in a strengths-based manner to help them identify and achieve their goals. Over the course of my career, I have developed a deep understanding of depression, anxiety, and trauma-related disorders, and have helped hundreds of clients grow and find the strength within themselves to conquer some of life’s most difficult challenges.
My practice includes assisting clients to work through a variety of difficulties and achieve positive growth. Some of the types of issues I most frequently encounter include:
I find that a holistic approach to wellness, in which I believe that every person has within themselves the power and capacity to heal, is the most effective approach to therapy. I focus on working with my clients’ strengths and enhancing their positive attributes to overcome life’s obstacles–regardless of whether those obstacles arise from grief/loss, depression, anxiety, stress, or any of the myriad of challenges that we face in our lives. In doing so, I strive always to help people create joy in their lives, to find out more about who they are and what they want, and explore strategies to get there safely.
I am dedicated to facilitating the implementation of trauma-informed and mindfulness-based self-care practice in all settings, and I strive to build awareness and resilience and create a safe and compassionate environment for self-exploration. Mindfulness implementation is very important to me in therapy; I encourage my clients to develop a mindful awareness of themselves and the experiences that have helped shape their life, and to harness this awareness to help them to move forward in an intentional and purpose-driven manner.
I currently accept insurance from the following carriers:
